CONNECT WITH US

THERE'S A PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO CONNECT.

The initial phase of any relationship is discovery. Before you do anything, you probably want to learn who someone is, what they like, and what they believe in. It's no different with a church, but it can be more daunting.

We want to help. Visiting APOSTOLIC JUBILEE CENTER is your first step in getting to know us and helping us get to know you. You'll get a chance to hear from Pastor Ben Aguirre and ask questions. This is your first step at AJC.

LIFE GROUPS @ AJC

Life Groups provide people with the opportunity to connect with others, grow in their relationship with Jesus and experience community.

Life Groups meet regularly – some weekly, some bi-weekly – for Bible study, discussion, sharing and serving together, and of course there is usually some kind of snack involved. There are groups meeting every day of the week, some in homes and some at Hope. We have men’s groups, women’s groups, groups in the same stage of life and mixed groups.

Life Groups are not only important for our faith walk, but for every-day life.

Life groups are a key aspect of our church community. Most meet weekly in the home of a group member (usually the leader's home). If you can't find an open group, please let us know!

HOW ARE GROUPS STRUCTURED?

Life Groups are comprised of 6-12 people who meet weekly in homes all throughout the area. Groups are available for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL LIFE GROUP MEETING LIKE?

Most groups have snacks or dinner each week so typically the group will begin by enjoying some good food. Then you would move into a time of talking about Sunday’s sermon or special topic followed by praying for one another’s needs. Groups also plan fun activities together such as Miniature Golf, Bowling, Sand Volleyball, Threshers Game, etc.

WHAT TYPE OF STUDY DOES THE LIFE GROUP FOLLOW?

Life Group discussions are either centered on the current Sunday sermon at First Christian or on a specific topic of choice.

WHAT IF I HAVE CHILDREN?

There are groups where children are welcome. When inquiring about a group, you can ask the leader how their group organizes with children.

WHAT IF I DON'T CONNECT WITH THE LIFE GROUP I VISIT?

Our goal at First Christian is to help you find meaningful relationships in which you can grow. We understand that it may take checking out two or three different groups to find the right fit. With that in mind, we encourage you to give each group a few weeks before trying a new one. It usually takes a few weeks for people to break the ice and begin connecting.

Serve Teams

It takes many people in dozens of different serving positions to welcome all of our amazing guests. Because of our teams that faithfully serve, we’re able to create a welcoming environment that helps connect people to Jesus. That’s what it’s all about!

We also believe serving is not just for the benefit of others but is a catalyst for us to grow in our relationship with God. Jesus said He didn’t come to be served, but to serve. If Jesus made it a priority to serve others, we believe that it is our mandate as well.

If you have questions about serving, email APOSTOLICJUBILEE@gmail.com

SERVE @ AJC

Guest Experience/Parking Team

image21

The first time guest decides within the first few minutes whether he or she will return for a second time visit. A second time guest is our "win". Whether serving on the parking team, as a greeter, or manning the Guest Experience table, every interaction with new guests matters! We strive to make sure everyone feels welcomed and loved from the moment they step foot out of their cars to the moment they pull out of the parking lot.

Ushers /Greeters

image22

A church greeter or Usher is often the first person a visitor to a church will meet. Just like in the building of all relationships, the first impression a greeter makes has an impact on the perception of a church. Church greeters, like ushers, assist church attenders. Often when a family with young children arrives for the first time, a greeter can show them the nursery, explain the service, assist in transitioning the children to their rooms if there is resistance and generally provide a hand of friendship and love to the visitor.

Nursery/Childrens Ministry

image23

The Nursery has a an active, hands-on approach to learning with preschool children.  You can plan on a lot of playing, jumping, dancing, singing and laughter in every experience.  Be on the lookout for fun crafts, big games and lots of toys.

Our Children's dept. have upbeat large group programming features interactive worship and aims to show kids how to apply God’s Word to their life and have a relationship with him.  These experiences always include a hilarious host and a storyteller who presents the Bible story in an engaging and relevant way.

Evangelism/ Community Ambassadors

image24

Our goal is to build relationships with and involve as many congregations as possible, so that together we can share the gospel of Christ while providing for the physical needs of people who are hurting and homeless. Church Ambassadors will increase church awareness of issues related to homelessness and how Hope Awaits Ministries is addressing those issues through our programs and services. The only way for this to happen is through a partnership with people like you

Event Setup & Breakdown/Maintenance & Repairs

image25

Events and churches have long gone hand-in-hand because church families enjoy spending time together and often seek out ways to gather as a group. Efficient church event planning helps make these gatherings memorable!

Essential maintenance tasks can easily fall through the cracks. Not every church is run like a large organization – and while some can afford dedicated maintenance teams, others have to work with a team of Skilled volunteers to get the jobs done.

Visiting the Sick and Elderly

image26

Anyone needing encouragement, comfort, or a sense of belonging would profit from a visit. While that could include everyone, there are certain individuals who especially need to be reminded that they aren't forgotten. These are people who can feel rather lonely at times.
